Yellow Jersey's Photo Finish Competition

An event photograph can be a fantastic memento from a big race, and the perfect humblebrag on social media; but at 10 to 15 pounds a pop, they can get pretty expensive over the course of a season.

Determined to do something better, our official insurance supplier Yellow Jersey made all of the event photographs at the 2019 ITU Leeds and Nottingham events free to download and keep.

Yellow Jersey were preparing to do the same this year, but sadly things don’t always go to plan. With the announcement of the Leeds Virtual Challenge, however, Yellow Jersey managed to make the best of a bad situation, and had some fun playing with the concept.

They challenged BTF members to submit their own creative, amusing, and inspiring “finishline” photos from the Leeds Virtual Challenge. 86 members shared pictures of themselves getting out and enjoying their solo-triathlons, and 458 people took part in the open vote for the winner. Thank you to everyone who took part.

The winner, unsurprisingly, was the person who did the best job of engaging their friends and family to come in and vote. Chris Law won himself a Garmin Edge 530 and a year of cycle insurance, which will hopefully put him in prime position to get some PBs when the race calendar finally gets back to normal.
