Live Sport And Family Fun For Just £5 – Final Chance To Join Us In Leeds!
LIVE sport on your doorstep after months without it.
The world’s BEST talent all in one place for the final time ahead of the Summer’s Olympic and Paralympic Games.
A chance to get the family together for an ENTIRE WEEKEND of action and activity.
Sound tempting? We thought so too.
The 2021 World Triathlon Championship Series is heading to Roundhay Park in just two weeks’ time, bringing with it the opportunity to mark the date in your diary and join us from start to finish.
Kicking off on Saturday 5 June, Leeds’ 700 acres of parkland will become a hive of activity. Think elite paratriathletes going head-to-head in sprint finishes in front of Mansion House, with you – the fans – stood just metres away, cheering them on with every stride. Are you ready for it? We certainly are.
Or perhaps you fancy taking a more relaxed approach? From 06:30am, the park gates will be opened and the Event Village will be ready to welcome you in. Grab a coffee, wander round at your leisure and soak up all it has to offer – maybe even pick up some official event merchandise if you feel so inclined.
From AJ Bell, to Volvo, to OTE, our exhibitors are gearing up to provide you with plenty to peruse in case you’re inspired to get started in swim, bike and run yourself . With experts on hand at every step, it’s a chance to ask all your burning questions – there are no silly ones, believe us - and get fully clued up on how to begin. Plus, the friendly British Triathlon Membership team will be on hand to talk you through what being part of the British Triathlon family really means. HINT: it’s good, we assure you. We’ve even got a scavenger hunt to keep you and the family busy – up for the challenge?
Fear not, it’s not a prerequisite to be planning to pull on a wetsuit any time soon. If that’s not your thing, there’s still lots to keep you occupied. Keep reading…
Something we should let you into, Saturday sees the very FIRST edition of the AJ Bell World Triathlon Para Series, Leeds Presented by Volvo. What does that mean? Well, if you want to rub shoulders with some Paralympians, now’s your chance. From Rio medallists like Lauren Steadman and Alison Peasgood, to exciting new talent making their final preparations for Tokyo, Roundhay Park will host them all. Head to swim start – don’t worry about finding the best spot, we’ve done that for you – and witness it for yourself. After that it’s up to you. Grab a position behind the barriers and watch the stars fly by or head to the finish to find out who makes the podium.
Or, if you’re really looking to put your feet up and relax then find a seat in front of one of our big screens. No judging – that’s exactly what they’re there for.
Are you sold yet? Now the important bit – spectator tickets are LIMITED. All spectators must register in order to attend and enjoy the day so we’re compliant with Covid-19 restrictions and to help us with NHS Track and Trace. One more thing, you’ll also required to complete a health declaration and agree to our code of conduct – we’ll send this out to you during event week and it’ll make sure you can get on site. Pretty important!
It’s probably time we spoke about cost. It’s just £5 to enjoy the entire day of live sport and entertainment, with completely free entry for under 16’s. You can’t say fairer that that, right?
And if that’s not enough for you, we’re back to do it all again on Sunday 6 June when the Olympic hopefuls to take centre stage for their second leg of the 2021 World Triathlon Championship Series. Just weeks away from the Games, it’s going to be a big one.
While we can’t absolutely promise you the blazing sunshine (although it’s looking promising) what we can absolutely guarantee is a day to remember. After a tough and testing year for many, think of the AJ Bell World Triathlon Leeds as a tonic to set you up for what we hope is an exciting summer of sport.
