Aj Bell 2021 World Triathlon Leeds Raising Money For Leeds Hospitals Charity
Leeds Hospitals Charity, formally known as Leeds Cares, support NHS hospitals and staff across the city to fund equipment and services over and above what the NHS can and are the official charity partner of AJ Bell 2021 World Triathlon Leeds.
Entries for the event, which will take place in Roundhay Park on 5 and 6 June 2021, provide the opportunity for participants and their supporters to donate towards the charity and its work locally.

As the charity of Leeds Teaching Hospitals, Leeds Hospitals Charity supports NHS staff to deliver the best care for over a million patients and their families each year at eight hospitals in the city.
The charity was also the official charity of the event for the postponed 2020 edition, with last year’s AJ Bell World Triathlon Leeds Virtual Challenge participants raising over £10,000 and title partners AJ Bell donating a further £10,000.
With many fundraising events cancelled in the past year, the virtual challenge raised vital funds to support the charity’s work alongside hospitals in Leeds, with the £20,000 raised going towards lifesaving equipment, research fellowships and improvements to the patient environment.
Wayne Coyle, Event Director at AJ Bell 2021 World Triathlon Leeds, said: “Last year’s virtual challenge raised an amazing amount of money for Leeds Hospital Charity and we’re delighted that we’re able to carry on supporting them in 2021.
“We’ve all seen the importance of the NHS demonstrated even more clearly over the past 12 months, and the money raised through the event will go towards supporting the amazing work done at hospitals across Leeds.
“AJ Bell 2021 World Triathlon Leeds is an event that attracts athletes and interest from around the world and it’s really important to us that we’re able to support the local community through our partnership with Leeds Hospital Charity.”
Giles Fretwell, Events and Community Manager at Leeds Hospitals Charity, said: “AJ Bell 2021 World Triathlon Leeds has a deserved reputation as one of the flagship events on the world's fitness calendar, so to have them supporting us again this year is amazing.
After an extremely difficult year, with so many events being cancelled, we’re so excited to help create an unforgettable event in June and make a huge difference to our NHS heroes and so many people across Leeds."
